Why I teach the way I do.
Mathematics has always been my strongest subject and my favourite one. I sat A-Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Chemistry, achieving A* in all three, alongside an A in AS Biology, and I taught myself the entire Further Mathematics course independently.
That experience shapes how I teach. Learning a full A-Level from scratch, without a class to follow, forces you to be honest about what you actually understand. It also proves something worth repeating to every student who believes they are simply not a maths person: the subject rewards structure and persistence far more than it rewards natural talent.
I went on to read Economics and Mathematics at the University of Leeds, graduating with First Class Honours, and I am studying MSc Artificial Intelligence, within Mathematics and Computer Science, at Imperial College London.
Over the past five years I have taught more than 250 hours through MyTutor and around 120 hours privately, across KS3, GCSE, A-Level and Further Mathematics. I also completed a teaching internship with the BCTSA at Arden Academy in Solihull, co-teaching Year 7 and Year 10 mathematics classes and writing lesson plans, presentations and worksheets.
Maths is for everyone. It is a matter of confidence and interest in the subject, and both can be built.

A four-stage cycle, followed consistently from the first lesson to the final exam.
We begin with where the student actually is: current level, strengths, weak areas and target grade. That becomes a long-term plan, not a run of unconnected sessions.
We work through the plan at the agreed pace, every concept explained in full. Staying ahead of school means students meet content in class for the second time, not the first.
Every topic is followed by homework, from straightforward problems to the hardest exam questions. Where the answers show a gap, we go back to it before moving on.
After a block of topics, a longer paper sat at home under supervision. It combines areas deliberately, so students must recognise which method each question needs.

Years 7 to 9. The aim is fluency and confidence, so that GCSE content arrives as an extension of something already secure. Where a student is ready, we begin GCSE material early.
Foundation and Higher tier, across all the main exam boards. We work through the specification in a deliberate order, staying ahead of school where possible, and build up to full past papers under timed conditions.
Pure Mathematics alongside the applied modules. My own A-Level options were Statistics and Mechanics, so both are taught from direct experience of the papers rather than from the textbook alone.
Core Pure with Statistics and Discrete, which were my own options. I taught myself the entire Further Mathematics course independently and achieved A*, so I know precisely where the course is difficult to learn without support.
